Job Summary
As a CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping Functional Consultant at HCLTech, you will play a critical role in shaping and maintaining the integrity of IT asset and configuration management processes. This position is essential for ensuring seamless integration, accurate data management, and effective service mapping within the ServiceNow ITOM environment. By leveraging your expertise, you will contribute to the organization’s operational efficiency and support its strategic objectives in IT service management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead technical and functional discussions to design, implement, and optimize Asset & Configuration modules in ITSM tools, primarily within ServiceNow. - Develop and maintain common service data model (CSDM) concepts to ensure data integrity between CMDB and AMDB. - Analyze various Configuration Item (CI) and data sources (including Discovery tools, procurement systems, etc.), establishing processes and solutions to maintain data integrity across multiple platforms. - Accurately define client issues and interpret/document resolutions, drawing on deep product knowledge and collaborating with technical architects. - Capture configuration data, document functional specifications, create test cases, and formulate solutions based on technical requirements. - Participate in Configuration Management meetings and Story Time sessions as needed. - Design, implement, and manage ServiceNow ITOM solutions, including CMDB Health Dashboards and Service Mapping. - Provide hands-on expertise in Change, Configuration, and Asset Management system tools, ensuring best-practice processes are followed. - Support IT Asset Management Lifecycle, including both hardware and software, ensuring comprehensive asset tracking and management. - Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, leveraging strong interpersonal skills for communication, relationship building, and negotiation.
Skill Requirements
Minimum 6 years of experience with CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, ITOM solutioning, and CMDB Health Dashboards. - At least 5 years of relevant, recent experience in ITOM functional consultancy. - Minimum 5 years of experience with ServiceNow Discovery. - Strong understanding of ITSM best practices, specifically in Configuration and Asset Management. - Proficiency in ServiceNow ITOM solution design and process implementation. - Experience in IT Asset Management Lifecycle processes (hardware and software). - Ability to define and resolve client issues based on deep product knowledge. - Excellent documentation skills for capturing requirements, specifications, test cases, and solutions. - Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Other Requirements
ITIL Intermediate certification. - Asset CMDB Architecture solution experience. - ServiceNow administration experience. - Experience with IRE (Identification & Reconciliation Engine). - Additional certifications related to ServiceNow or ITOM.
