Job Summary

Responsibilities of Role

•Install, configure, and manage PRTG Network Monitor environments.

•Monitor network devices, servers, applications, and bandwidth usage.

•Configure sensors (SNMP, WMI, HTTP, Flow, etc.) for various monitoring needs.

•Design dashboards and maps for real-time infrastructure visibility.

•Configure alerts, notifications, and escalation policies.

•Optimize performance and scalability of PRTG monitoring systems.

•Perform root cause analysis and incident troubleshooting.

•Integrate PRTG with third-party systems and APIs.

•Automate monitoring setup and maintenance tasks.

•Manage distributed monitoring using remote probes.

•Conduct regular health checks and system upgrades.

Expertise:

•Monitoring Tools: PRTG Network Monitor

•Protocols: SNMP, WMI, NetFlow, sFlow, HTTP/HTTPS

•Network Monitoring: Bandwidth, latency, traffic analysis

•OS Platforms: Windows, Linux monitoring

•Scripting: PowerShell, Python (for automation)

•Visualization: PRTG dashboards, maps, reporting tools

•Integration: REST APIs, webhooks

•Alerting: Email, SMS, push notifications

Skill Requirements

Relevant Experience

•10+years of IT experience with 3+ years in PRTG

•Hands-on experience with PRTG installation, configuration, and administration

•Configured sensors for network, server, and application monitoring

•Experience with distributed monitoring using PRTG probes

•Implemented alerting and escalation workflows

•Strong knowledge of network monitoring and traffic analysis

•Tuned PRTG performance in large enterprise environments

•Integrated PRTG with external systems and automation tools

•Improved visibility and uptime across infrastructure environments
