Job Summary

The Engineer in Support & Operations will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (XenDesktop) environments, with a strong focus on Machine Creation Services (MCS). The role involves providing operational support, resolving incidents, supporting image management activities, and ensuring service availability in line with business SLAs. Responsibilities align closely with Citrix XenDesktop, MCS, and provisioning support expectations observed in HCLTech roles and internal Citrix references.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Provide L1/L2 operational support for Citrix XenDesktop environments. Administer and support Machine Creation Services (MCS) catalogs and desktop delivery infrastructure. Perform image updates, machine catalog maintenance, and desktop provisioning activities. Troubleshoot desktop launch issues, profile issues, logon delays, and application access problems. Monitor Citrix infrastructure health and address performance-related alerts. Support Citrix Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, Citrix Workspace, and Citrix Director. Execute patching, maintenance, reboot schedules, and standard operational changes. Participate in Incident, Problem, and Change Management activities. Coordinate with application, server, network, and security teams for issue resolution. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles. Ensure compliance with operational standards and support processes

Skill Requirements

 Technical Skills – Mandatory Hands-on experience with: Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (XenDesktop) Machine Creation Services (MCS) Citrix Studio Citrix Director StoreFront Citrix Workspace App Working knowledge of: Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 Active Directory Group Policies (GPO) DNS & DHCP Profile Management Experience in: Machine Catalog management Delivery Group administration MCS image management and updates Virtual Desktop provisioning User access troubleshooting Good understanding of: Citrix infrastructure monitoring Performance troubleshooting Incident and Change Management

Other Requirements

Preferred Skills Exposure to: Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) Citrix Cloud VMware vSphere Hyper-V Azure Virtual Desktop concepts Basic PowerShell scripting knowledge. Experience with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow. Behavioral Competencies Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Effective communication and stakeholder management. Customer-focused approach. Ability to work in a 24x7 support environment. Team collaboration and ownership mindset. Education Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent.
