Job Summary

HCLTech is seeking a Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to design, standardize, and own sovereign-compliant DB PaaS offerings covering both Relational (SQL) and NoSQL platforms. The role focuses on data sovereignty, technology sovereignty, and operations sovereignty, ensuring database services are regulator-aligned, audit-ready, secure, and scalable across regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define sovereign DBaaS reference architectures for SQL and NoSQL platforms
• Design jurisdiction-locked and air-gapped DB deployment models
• Establish tenant isolation models for regulated and critical workloads
• Define data residency, encryption, BYOK/HYOK, and key custody models
• Design HA, DR, backup, retention, and secure data deletion architectures
• Own the DBaaS service catalog including supported engines, versions, and tiers
• Build DBaaS blueprints, templates, and solution documents as reusable assets
• Act as design authority for DBaaS-related architecture and exception reviews
• Support RFPs, strategic deals, and presales with sovereign DB assurance

Skill Requirements

• Strong experience with Relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
• Strong experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, key-value / document stores)
• Deep expertise in DB PaaS architectures and cloud-native data services
• Strong understanding of data residency, access sovereignty, and audit requirements
• Experience working in regulated or sovereign cloud environments
