Senior Digital Transformation Consultant / Solution Architect

Role Overview

HCLTech ERS is seeking a senior digital leader with deep experience in Asset-Intensive Industries such as Industrial Automation, Energy & Utilities, Oil & Gas, Process Manufacturing, Power Generation, Renewables, or Grid Operations.

The individual will drive digital transformation engagements, define solution strategies, and lead the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies including Digital Twin, IoT, AI/GenAI, Data Analytics, OT/IT convergence, Smart Manufacturing, Predictive Maintenance, Asset Performance Management (APM), and Connected Operations.

The role requires a blend of domain consulting expertise, technology leadership, client engagement, and business development capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Digital Strategy & Consulting

  • Advise global clients on digital transformation roadmaps for industrial and utility operations.
  • Lead assessments of asset lifecycle, plant operations, maintenance, reliability, and engineering processes.
  • Develop business cases and value realization frameworks for Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Define enterprise architectures integrating OT, IT, Engineering Technology (ET), and cloud ecosystems.

Solution Architecture & Delivery

  • Design end-to-end digital solutions leveraging:
    • Industrial IoT (IIoT)
    • Digital Twin
    • AI/ML and GenAI
    • Advanced Analytics
    • Smart Asset Management
    • Predictive Maintenance
    • Connected Worker Platforms
    • MES/MOM Systems
    • SCADA/DCS Integration
    • Edge Computing and Cloud Platforms
  • Lead transformation programs from strategy through implementation and value realization.
  • Manage large programs using Agile Methodology and transforming programs from traditional to Agile mode.
  • Guide multi-disciplinary teams across engineering, software, cloud, data, and operations.

Industry & Domain Leadership

  • Bring deep understanding of:
    • Utilities (Generation, Transmission, Distribution)
    • Industrial Automation
    • Process Manufacturing
    • Oil & Gas
    • Renewables
    • Smart Grid Operations
    • Asset Reliability & Maintenance
  • Act as a trusted advisor for CXOs, Digital Leaders, Plant Heads, Operations Leaders, and Asset Management executives.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging industrial technologies and market trends.

Business Development

  • Support pre-sales pursuits and strategic proposals.
  • Build client relationships and identify transformation opportunities.
  • Lead workshops, discovery sessions, and executive presentations.
  • Contribute to solution accelerators, thought leadership, and consulting assets.

Skill Requirements

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with AVEVA, Siemens, Schneider, GE Digital, PTC, AspenTech, Honeywell, ABB or similar industrial platforms.
  • Knowledge of ISA-95, ISA-88, IEC 61850, NERC, ISO 55000 and related industrial standards.
  • Experience in Smart Factory or Connected Asset programs.
  • Exposure to Digital Thread, Digital Twin and Reliability Engineering initiatives.
  • Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills.

  • 15-20+ years of overall experience.
  • Minimum 8+ years in Digital Transformation, Industry 4.0, Smart Manufacturing, Energy & Utilities, or Industrial Automation.
  • Proven experience leading large transformation programs (>USD 5M preferred).

Maximum Salary (US):  255000
Minimum Salary (US):  173000

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
