"Job Role Profile
The profile we are looking for will operate at Director level, with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence, within an advanced R&D and Product Innovation context.
The role requires a seasoned technology leader (>20 years experience) with strong Telco domain expertise, deep experience in end-to-end product lifecycle management, and a proven track record in driving AI-driven innovation from concept to industrialization.
The candidate is expected to act as a strategic and technical leader, bridging business vision, advanced research, and scalable product development, while influencing senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams in a complex, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
During daily activities, the AI Director will:
Define and drive the AI and Advanced R&D strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and Telco industry evolution
Lead and oversee AI-enabled product and platform lifecycles, from early research and proof-of-concept to large-scale deployment
Act as a technical authority and thought leader in AI technologies applied to Telco domains (e.g. network, OSS/BSS, analytics, automation, security, edge/cloud)
Guide R&D teams in adopting modern AI architectures, tools, and methodologies, promoting best practices and engineering excellence
Collaborate with senior R&D, product, and business stakeholders to translate market needs into innovative, scalable solutions
Ensure industrialization readiness, governance, and technical robustness of AI-based products
Support transformation initiatives by evolving legacy platforms toward AI-native and data-driven architectures
Engage, when needed, in customer and partner meetings as a trusted advisor on AI and Telco product architectures
Contribute to the growth of the organization by mentoring leaders, strengthening competencies, and fostering innovation culture
Actively participate in relevant technology communities, industry forums, and innovation ecosystems
Education and Experience Required
Significant experience in R&D and product leadership roles, ideally at Director or Senior Manager level
Strong background in Artificial Intelligence, modern software architectures, interdisciplinary landscapes
Proven experience managing full product lifecycles in complex, large-scale environments
Deep and practical knowledge of the Telco domain and its architectural, operational, and regulatory challenges
Experience operating in international and multicultural contexts, interacting with executive stakeholders
Knowledge and Skills Required
Strong expertise in AI/ML technologies, data-driven architectures, and cloud-native platforms
Solid understanding of Telco systems and architectures (network, platforms, services, ecosystems)
Ability to define technology roadmaps and guide long-term innovation agendas
Proven leadership in R&D organizations, including people management and cross-functional coordination
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts
Strategic mindset combined with a pragmatic, delivery-oriented approach
Fluent English is mandatory"
