Role Summary
The SAP Program Manager is responsible for end-to-end ownership of large-scale SAP programs, including S/4HANA transformations, SAP Platform initiatives, and multi-vendor integrations.
This role ensures strategic alignment, governance, delivery excellence, financial control, and stakeholder confidence across complex, multi-workstream SAP landscapes.
The Program Manager acts as the single point of accountability for program outcomes, working closely with business leaders, IT leadership, SAP partners, and global delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Governance
- Own and lead end-to-end SAP programs covering S/4HANA, SAP ECC migrations, SAP BTP, Ariba, SuccessFactors, and integration platforms.
- Establish and run program governance, including steering committees, executive reviews, RAID management, and decision forums.
- Define program roadmap, milestones, and success metrics aligned with business objectives.
Delivery & Execution Management
- Oversee multiple SAP workstreams (Functional, Technical, Data, Integration, Testing, Change, Cutover).
- Ensure delivery adherence to scope, schedule, quality, and cost baselines.
- Drive SAP Activate / Agile / Hybrid delivery models depending on program needs.
- Manage dependencies across vendors, system integrators, and internal teams.
Stakeholder & Business Engagement
- Act as the primary interface with senior business and IT stakeholders.
- Translate business strategy into executable SAP transformation plans.
- Provide clear, concise executive-level reporting on progress, risks, and decisions.
Financial & Commercial Management
- Own program financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and margin governance.
- Manage commercial aspects such as SOWs, change requests, and contract compliance.
- Ensure financial transparency and proactive risk mitigation.
Risk, Quality & Compliance
- Identify and manage program-level risks and issues with proactive mitigation plans.
- Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, enterprise architecture standards, and security/compliance requirements.
- Drive quality assurance across design, build, testing, and deployment phases.
People & Partner Management
- Lead large, global SAP delivery teams across onshore, nearshore, and offshore models.
- Mentor project managers, workstream leads, and delivery managers.
- Coordinate effectively with SAP, hyperscalers, and third-party vendors.
Other Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
SAP & Technology Expertise
- Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA programs (Greenfield, Brownfield, Selective).
- Solid understanding of SAP Platform components:
- S/4HANA, SAP BTP
- Integration (CPI, PI/PO, APIs)
- SAP Ariba / SuccessFactors (preferred)
- Good appreciation of data migration, integration, and security considerations in SAP landscapes.
Program & Delivery Management
- Proven track record of managing large, multi-year SAP programs (>USD multi-million).
- Hands-on experience with SAP Activate, Agile, and Waterfall governance models.
- Strong command over RAID management, dependency tracking, and executive reporting.
Leadership & Communication
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Ability to lead through influence, structure, and clarity.
Strong decision-making capability in high-pressure environments.
