Job Summary

Overview of the Role

The Associate General Manager – R&D (Pharma) will play a pivotal role in steering research and development initiatives within the pharmaceutical vertical. This position is critical in shaping the company’s scientific strategy, accelerating innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-impact solutions. Detailed Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage R&D teams focused on pharmaceutical projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of research initiatives, clinical trials, and drug development activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (regulatory, quality, business development) to drive project success and compliance.
  • Identify emerging trends and technologies in pharma R&D to inform strategy and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Develop and implement protocols for process improvement, risk management, and quality assurance within R&D operations.
  • Represent the organization in scientific forums, industry conferences, and with key stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and visibility.
  • Ensure efficient resource allocation, budget management, and timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Mentor and develop talent within the R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

Skill Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, or Master’s) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, with demonstrated leadership in managing large-scale projects and teams.
  • Proven expertise in clinical research, drug development, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience in stakeholder management.
  • Familiarity with digital tools, data analytics, and emerging technologies in pharma.

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
