L2 Storage Administrator - Hitachi, Dell, HPE 3PAR, XP7/XP8 & Huawei Storage Roles & Responsibilities • Administration, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise storage infrastructure across Hitachi, Dell EMC, HPE 3PAR, XP7/XP8, Huawei, and Isilon platforms. • Hands-on management of Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) environments including G Series, F Series, VSP G700, VSP F700, and related models. • Manage and support Hitachi Universal Replicator (HUR), TrueCopy, CCI RAID Manager, and HORCM configurations for replication and disaster recovery operations. • Configure and administer RAID Groups, Storage Pools, LDEVs, LUNs, Volumes, and Host Groups. • Perform storage provisioning activities including: o LUN Allocation o LUN Extension/Expansion o LUN De-allocation o Storage Migration Activities • Monitor storage utilization and perform capacity planning to ensure optimal resource allocation. • Conduct performance analysis, LDEV validation, performance tuning, and storage optimization activities. • Support firmware, patch, and microcode upgrades, including planning, validation, risk assessment, and implementation. • Troubleshoot storage-related incidents and coordinate with vendors for complex technical issues. SAN Administration • Hands-on experience with Cisco and Brocade SAN Switches. • Configure and manage: o SAN Zoning o Virtual SANs (VSAN) o Virtual Fabrics o FCIP Connectivity o Fabric Administration • Perform SAN switch maintenance, firmware upgrades, fabric health checks, and troubleshooting. • Manage host-to-storage connectivity, multipathing, and SAN cabling activities. • Support SAN backup and restore operations. Disaster Recovery & Replication • Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, testing, and execution. • Support replication technologies and failover activities using: o Hitachi Universal Replicator (HUR) o TrueCopy o HORCM o Veritas Volume Manager Integration • Assist in cluster failover validation and recovery testing activities. Operations & Governance • Monitor daily storage health checks and operational alerts. • Follow and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Operational Runbooks, and documentation. • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly storage utilization and performance reports. • Implement industry best practices for storage infrastructure management. • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for Major Incidents and recurring issues. • Analyze repeat incidents and recommend preventive actions. • Ensure compliance with SLAs and operational standards. ITIL & Service Management • Handle Priority 1 (P1) and Priority 2 (P2) incidents in production environments. • Work closely with Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management processes. • Participate in CAB reviews and support implementation of approved infrastructure changes. • Maintain accurate documentation and operational records for audit and compliance requirements.
