Job Summary

Application Packaging Description:

Application Packaging - Packaging Center provides general consultation and packaging development services to application developers and product owners in the development of the software implementation packages for Windows workstations and Windows servers.  Quality assurance testing and Unit testing of packages fall under this service.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities of Application Packaging Analyst:

  • Application Packaging Analyst will utilize packaging tools to assist in the creation/update of issuance packages that are consistent with the customer standards for Enterprise Deployment.  
  • Communicate with the Package requestors if there are questions or issues.
  • Packaging Single Point of Contact (SPOC) will assign the package request to the packaging analyst for processing the request.
  • Application packaging analyst creates a new package using the appropriate packaging tools.
  • Packaging analysts customize the package as per the requirements specified in the Package request.  Create documentation in the form of packaging notes as per customer standards.
  • Intune deployment and management of applications
  • Post successful quality assurance performed, the developed package will be provided to the requestor to perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Test the packages on packaging test machines.  For any environment specific testing/troubleshooting, work with the business partner/requestor.
  • Work ServiceNow Incidents and Requests related to packaging issues.
  • Maintain and support the customer provided packaging test machines.
  • Intune package creation using PSADT multiple versions
  • In-depth knowledge of Intune publishing.
  • Knowledge on Intune deployment troubleshooting

Skill Requirements

Additional Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Proficient in PowerShell and scripting
  • Knowledge of Windows installer processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong focus on customer service, positive & professional attitude
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Windows operating systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for software installation failures

Ability to learn and follow procedures
