Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior B2B Portal Developer responsible for developing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise B2B applications, workflows, APIs, and database solutions. The role requires expertise in full-stack application development, workflow automation, API integrations, SQL Server development, and Agile delivery practices. The individual will work closely with ExxonMobil product owners, architects, business stakeholders, and development teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing B2B solutions.
Key Responsibilities
B2B Portal Development & Maintenance Support, maintain, and enhance the enterprise B2B Portal platform. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Design, develop, test, and deploy portal enhancements and bug fixes. Troubleshoot application defects, production issues, and performance bottlenecks. Improve portal usability, reliability, and overall user experience. Ensure compliance with organizational security, architecture, and development standards. Support application release management and deployment activities. Develop and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs). Participate in application support, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. 2. B2B Workflow Development & Enhancements Design, develop, modify, and support business workflow solutions. Translate business and operational requirements into workflow implementations. Enhance workflow functionality, performance, automation, and user experience. Troubleshoot workflow failures, exceptions, and processing delays. Implement workflow optimization and process automation opportunities. Perform workflow validation, testing, and deployment activities. Monitor workflow execution and ensure successful processing of business transactions. Document workflow processes, configurations, and enhancements. 3. API Design, Development & Integration Design, develop, and maintain secure RESTful APIs supporting B2B applications and integrations. Develop API endpoints to support new business capabilities and system integrations. Enhance existing APIs for performance, scalability, reliability, and security. Implement API authentication, authorization, and security controls. Validate API requests, responses, payload structures, and business logic. Troubleshoot API integration issues and resolve service disruptions. Monitor API performance, usage, and operational health. Maintain API specifications, technical documentation, and version control standards. Collaborate with internal and external application teams for API integrations. 4. Database Development & SQL Server Administration Design, create, and maintain SQL Server database components, including: Stored Procedures Functions Views SQL Jobs Tables Triggers Indexes Database Scripts Modify database structures to support application enhancements and integrations. Optimize SQL queries and database jobs for performance and scalability. Monitor database health, job execution, and performance metrics. Troubleshoot database failures, blocking issues, and performance concerns. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across application databases. Support deployment of database changes through controlled release processes. Maintain comprehensive database documentation.
Skill Requirements
Application Support & Troubleshooting Investigate and resolve production incidents affecting portal, workflow, API, or database components. Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions. Monitor application logs, interfaces, and background jobs. Coordinate with infrastructure, middleware, and support teams to resolve cross-functional issues. Provide Level-3 technical support for critical business applications. Ensure adherence to SLA, operational, and support commitments. 6. Testing & Quality Assurance Develop and execute: Unit Testing Integration Testing System Testing Regression Testing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support Validate workflow, portal, API, and database changes before deployment. Ensure defect-free releases through structured testing processes. Support automated testing and continuous integration initiatives. Participate in peer code reviews and quality assurance reviews. 7. Security, Compliance & Governance Ensure all development activities comply with enterprise security standards and policies. Follow secure coding practices and application security guidelines. Support audit reviews, compliance assessments, and remediation activities. Maintain traceability and documentation for changes and releases. Participate in architecture, security, and design reviews. Ensure governance requirements are met throughout the development lifecycle. 8. Agile Delivery & Collaboration Work closely with ExxonMobil stakeholders in an Agile delivery model. Participate in: Daily Stand-Ups Sprint Planning Sessions Sprint Reviews Sprint Retrospectives PI Planning and Breakout Sessions Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Scrum Masters, and Business Teams. Provide effort estimations and technical recommendations. Contribute to sprint goals, release planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
