Job Summary

 ROLE SUMMARY Executes Linux patching across the SG estate via Red Hat Satellite and direct OS tooling. Largest single line in the OS scope, driven by volume and the prevalence of non-managed instances. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ■ Execute Linux patching cycles via Red Hat Satellite and yum/dnf workflows. ■ Patch non-managed instances currently driven by application CI/CD pipelines. ■ Handle emergency CVE response within Tier-1 or Tier-2 SLA as applicable. ■ Maintain Ansible playbooks for routine patching. ■ Validate compliance and remediate failed runs. ■ Coordinate with application owners on reboot and service-restart windows. REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS ■ Hands-on RHEL administration: 7, 8, 9. ■ Red Hat Satellite operations (subscriber side). ■ Ansible playbook development and execution. ■ Bash scripting; familiarity with yum/dnf, errata, security advisories. PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE ■ RHCSA or RHCE certification. ■ Exposure to Ubuntu, SUSE, or Oracle Linux. ■ Container patching (Podman, Docker, image bakery). EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS ■ 3+ years Linux operations. ■ Certifications: RHCSA minimum; RHCE preferred. SOFT SKILLS ■ Detail-oriented operator. ■ Effective at coordinating with application teams. ■ Comfortable in non-standard, heterogeneous environments.
