Job Summary

To offer advanced technical support , troubleshooting and doing root cause analysis to ensure positive customer feedback.

Key Responsibilities

An L2 Monitoring Engineer would be responsible for managing, resolving problems & administration related to the monitoring platform's performance and configuration. 

 

  • Configure & Troubleshoot SolarWinds modules (e.g., NPM, NCM, SAM), Zabbix, Prometheus and other monitoring tools.
  • Configure and maintain monitoring rules, thresholds, and alerts using the relevant NMS (Network Management System) tools. This includes managing SNMP, WMI, SSH, and API integrations for data collection.
  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting alerts, performance issues, and integration failures.
  • Configure and manage server, proxies, agents, and front-end components.
  • Proactively monitor the health and capacity of the monitoring system itself and the infrastructure
  • Maintain monitoring tools infrastructure, HA, DR including upgrades, patching, and data management (housekeeper settings).

 

Skill Requirements

  • Monitor monitoring tools database performance (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and collaborate with DBAs when needed.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and troubleshooting guides.
  • Work closely with other infrastructure teams (Network, Systems, Database, Cloud) and vendors to identify root causes of problems and implement solutions.
  • Participate in incident management processes, ensuring timely resolution of critical alerts and adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLAs). 
  • Modify and fine-tune existing Grafana dashboards and Prometheus alerting rules (PromQL queries) to meet operational requirements.

Drive automation efforts (using Ansible, Terraform, APIs, etc.) for configuration management, compliance checks, and integrating the monitoring tools with other systems like ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and notification platforms

Other Requirements

B.E./B.Tech and open to work in 24x7 shifts. 3-5+ years of experience in Monitoring Tools deployment and support. Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, SNMP, VLANs, firewalls) or server environments (Windows/Linux). Hands-on experience with SolarWinds, ManageEngine, Zabbix, Prometheus and its various modul
