Key Responsibilities
Linux HCBU (L3) Key Responsibilities: Linux System Operations & Administration: Perform day-to-day administration, installation, configuration, user access management, patch updates, and system maintenance for RHEL/CentOS/SUSE environments across hybrid cloud environments. Storage & LVM Management: Configure and manage Logical Volume Management (LVM), perform file system expansion, volume creation, disk provisioning, and mount point management attached to SAN/NAS storage. Troubleshooting & Incident Resolution: Perform initial triage, system diagnostics, performance tuning, and resolution for OS-level crashes, kernel panics, CPU/Memory bottlenecks, and high-priority infrastructure tickets. Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain Shell/Bash scripts and Ansible playbooks to automate routine administrative tasks, patching cycles, user management, and compliance checks. Hybrid Cloud & Infrastructure Integration: Support host connectivity, network configuration (bonding, VLANs, route setup), and baseline integration with Cloud Business Unit (HCBU) virtualized and enterprise compute platforms. System Backup & Recovery: Execute regular baseline system backups, system image restore operations, and participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) drills and failover testing. Compliance & Security Maintenance: Implement Linux security hardening guidelines (CIS benchmarks), access controls (Sudo, SSH keys), patch management, and vulnerability remediation across assigned servers.
Skill Requirements
Technical: Linux Administration: 3–5 years of dedicated hands-on experience administering enterprise Linux operating systems (RHEL 7/8/9, CentOS, or SUSE). Logical Volume Manager (LVM) & Filesystems: Core expertise in managing LVM, EXT4/XFS filesystems, disk partition layouts, and storage attachment. Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in writing Shell/Bash scripts and baseline exposure to Ansible for configuration automation. Networking & Protocols: Solid grasp of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, NFS, CIFS, SSH, FTP, and bonding/teaming configurations. User & Access Management: Strong knowledge of SSH key authentication, sudoers policies, user accounts, and Active Directory / LDAP integration. Non-Technical Strong analytical problem-solving skills for complex system diagnostics and OS performance issues. Effective operational communication skills for working with cross-functional IT and infrastructure teams. Proven ability to manage L2 incident tickets independently within defined SLA boundaries. Good to Have Skills: Basic experience managing virtualized compute environments on VMware vSphere or KVM. Exposure to cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure, or private cloud environments). Understanding of container technology fundamentals (Docker/Podman). Soft Skills: Clear written and verbal communication for logging ticket notes, root cause analysis (RCA), and operational handovers. High adaptability and responsiveness under incident triage or emergency maintenance windows. Strong team-player attitude with focus on standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Other Requirements
