Job Summary
The Quoting Manager – Telecom will lead and manage the quotation lifecycle for global telecom services, including data connectivity, last‑mile access, managed services, cloud connectivity, and network transformation solutions.
This role ensures accurate, competitive, and timely quotes by collaborating with Solution Architects, Product, Engineering, Sourcing/Vendors, Pricing, and Sales teams.
The manager will be responsible for standardizing quoting processes, improving turnaround time (TAT), ensuring commercial accuracy, and driving automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Quotation Management
- Own end-to-end quoting process for global telecom products (IP/MPLS, DIA, Ethernet, SD‑WAN, VPN, Cloud Connect, Voice, Security, Managed Services).
- Review customer RFQs, technical requirements, network reachability, and feasibility inputs.
- Ensure high‑quality and competitive quotes aligning with margin guidelines and commercial policies.
- Validate solution design, BoQ, vendor pricing, special approvals, credit checks, and risk assessments.
- Ensure quoting compliance with regional regulatory guidelines, tax structures, and commercial governance.
2. Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Collaborate closely with:
- Sales / Account Teams for opportunity understanding.
- Solution Architects for technical scope validation.
- Product Management for product fitment and pricing updates.
- Delivery Teams for feasibility inputs impacting quote design.
- Manage escalations and drive quick conflict resolution.
Skill Requirements
Operational Excellence
- Track and improve Quote-to-Order Lead Time, E2E Turnaround Time, Quote Quality, and Iteration Rate.
- Implement automation tools, AI‑assisted pricing, quote templates, and process workflows.
- Reduce manual touchpoints and eliminate inefficiencies in handoffs.
- Standardize quoting governance, audit checks, and version control.
4. Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of quoting analysts/engineers.
- Allocate workloads based on skills, product expertise, complexity, and priority levels.
- Develop skill matrix, training plans, and performance metrics.
