We are seeking a Senior Azure SQL Server Database Administrator with deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Azure cloud technologies. This role is ideal for professionals who excel in SQL Server administration and cloud integration.
The successful candidate will lead SQL Server initiatives including high availability, performance tuning, and cloud migration, monitoring, and Deployment configurations.
Key Responsibilities
SQL Server
Lead installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server instances (2016/2019/2022) in on-prem and Azure environments.
Design and implement High Availability solutions including Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, and Geo-replication in Azure.
Perform performance tuning using DMVs, Query Store, Extended Events, and Database Tuning Advisor.
Manage SQL Server Agent jobs, linked servers, and database mail.
Oversee database migrations, upgrades, and patching.
Implement robust backup and recovery strategies using native tools and Azure Backup.
Ensure database security through role-based access, encryption, and auditing.
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues.
Maintain documentation including SOPs, DR plans, and capacity reports.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Technical Skills
SQL Server (Senior Level):
Strong experience with SQL Server administration and Azure SQL.
Expertise in Always On, Clustering, performance tuning, and security.
Familiarity with Azure services like Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Monitor, and Azure Backup.
Proficiency in PowerShell and T-SQL scripting.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Certifications
Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent.
