Role Summary

Responsible for the administration, support, maintenance, and optimization of IBM Mainframe network infrastructure, ensuring secure, stable, and high-performing connectivity between mainframe systems, distributed platforms, applications, and external networks. The role supports business-critical production environments and drives continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support VTAM, TCP/IP, and SNA network environments.
  • Configure and maintain mainframe communication resources and network definitions.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity utilization.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues impacting CICS, MQ, IMS, DB2, and batch workloads.
  • Perform incident, problem, and change management activities.
  • Coordinate with distributed network, security, storage, and infrastructure teams.
  • Implement network-related software upgrades, maintenance, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to enhance service quality and reduce manual effort.
  • Participate in on-call support and critical production issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
