Job Summary

Experience of 12+ years

The FinOps Lead will drive cloud financial management practices across Azure, AWS and GCP environments. The role focuses on cloud cost visibility, optimization, governance, budgeting, forecasting, chargeback/showback, and collaboration among IT, Finance, Application and Business teams to maximize cloud value while maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Cost Management
•    Analyze cloud spend across Azure, AWS and GCP.
•    Establish and maintain cloud cost governance frameworks.
•    Develop allocation models and chargeback/showback mechanisms.
•    Monitor cloud consumption trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
•    Manage budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
Cost Optimization
•    Identify underutilized and oversized resources.
•    Drive rightsizing initiatives across compute, storage, database and networking services.
•    Optimize Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Spot Instances and committed-use discounts.
•    Implement resource lifecycle management and cloud wastage reduction programs.
•    Track and report realized savings.
Governance and Reporting
•    Define FinOps policies, standards and operational guardrails.
•    Ensure tagging compliance and cloud financial accountability.
•    Develop executive dashboards and KPI reports.
•    Present optimization recommendations to leadership and application owners.
•    Lead governance reviews and cloud cost discussions.
Forecasting and Planning
•    Perform cloud demand forecasting and capacity planning.
•    Support annual budgeting and financial planning cycles.
•    Collaborate with Finance teams on budgeting and cost allocation models.
•    Prepare monthly and quarterly cloud spend forecasts.
Stakeholder Management
•    Partner with Business, Finance, Engineering, Security and Procurement teams.
•    Drive FinOps adoption across multiple application teams.
•    Conduct FinOps workshops and awareness sessions.
•    Support leadership decision-making through data-driven recommendations.
Automation and Tooling
•    Leverage cloud-native cost management tools.
•    Implement automated reporting and anomaly detection.
•    Drive tagging automation and governance compliance.
•    Support integration with Power BI, ServiceNow and FinOps platforms.

Microsoft Azure; Amazon Web Services (AWS); Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
FinOps and Cost Management    
Cloud cost optimization; budgeting and forecasting; chargeback/showback; FinOps framework; business case and ROI analysis; Reserved Instances and Savings Plans; cloud economics
Tools    
Azure Cost Management; AWS Cost Explorer; Google Cloud Billing; Power BI; ServiceNow; CloudHealth or Apptio Cloudability preferred
Technical Knowledge    
Compute, storage, database and network services; tagging governance; capacity management; performance optimization; FinOps KPIs and reporting

Other Requirements

Hands-on experience managing enterprise cloud spend with complex, large-scale budgets.
Strong background in Cloud Operations, SRE, Capacity Management or Cloud Governance.
Experience presenting optimization opportunities to customer leadership and CIO-level stakeholders.
Ability to translate technical optimization initiatives into measurable business value.
