Role: Senior IT Asset Management (ITAM) Process ConsultantRole SummaryLead and drive enterprise-wide IT Asset Management (ITAM) strategy, governance, and optimization across software and hardware assets. Own lifecycle management, ensure compliance, and deliver cost and risk optimization while influencing stakeholders across IT, Finance, Procurement, and Legal.Key Responsibilities1. ITAM Strategy & GovernanceOwn and drive ITAM lifecycle management (procurement → deployment → usage → retirement).Establish and lead governance forums with business, IT, and operations stakeholders.Define and enforce ITAM policies, standards, and controls aligned to regulatory and organizational requirements.Influence decision-making on asset governance, compliance, and cost optimization.2. Cross-Functional CollaborationAct as a central interface between IT, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and business units.Align ITAM initiatives with financial planning, contract obligations, and risk posture.Drive stakeholder accountability for asset data accuracy and compliance adherence.3. Optimization & Cost ControlIdentify and implement software and hardware optimization opportunities.Lead license rationalization, re-harvesting, and cost avoidance initiatives.Optimize vendor licensing models and infrastructure utilization.4. Compliance, Audit & Risk ManagementLead IT audit readiness and response (internal/external).Ensure compliance with licensing agreements, regulatory requirements, and security policies.Mitigate risks related to software overuse, under-licensing, and asset mismanagement.5. Vendor & Contract ManagementGovern vendor performance and lead periodic service and contract reviews.Analyze complex licensing agreements and ensure adherence.Collaborate with procurement on negotiations and contract optimization.6. Data, Insights & ReportingDrive asset visibility through data analysis and reporting.Translate data into actionable insights for leadership decision-making.Maintain accuracy and integrity of CMDB/asset repositories.7. Team Leadership & DeliveryLead and manage internal teams and external partners/MSPs.Set direction, define KPIs, and ensure delivery against SLAs and outcomes.Drive continuous improvement in ITAM processes and tools.Core Experience & QualificationsExperience10+ years in IT, with 7+ years in ITAM/SAM lifecycle management.Hands-on expertise across:Infrastructure: Servers (Intel/HP, Unix/IBM), Storage (SAN/DELL EMC), Backup systemsNetwork: Routers, Switches (Cisco), Load Balancers (F5)Platforms: Windows, Linux, UnixDatabases: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Postgres, etc.Middleware: Application servers, ETL, web platformsStrong experience in software licensing and optimization for vendors like: Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, VMware, Citrix, Red Hat, Adobe, BMCProven experience managing cloud + on-prem (hybrid environments).Minimum 5 years working with or managing MSP/delivery partners.Must-Have CapabilitiesStrong experience in:IT audits, compliance, and risk managementContract analysis and licensing frameworksLifecycle management and governance executionAbility to:Analyze and interpret large datasetsPresent insights to senior leadershipInfluence cross-functional decisionsPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.Certifications or exposure to:IAITAM / CSAM / CHAMPISO ITAM standards (ISO/IEC 19770)Prior experience in regulated industries (Banking, Pharma
Key Responsibilities
1. To ensure on-time resolution & quality compliance of escalated tickets/incident as per the agreed SLA
2. To perform value addition activities (such as mentoring administrators/team members, preparing SOPs, maintaining effective documentation simultaneously and Knowledge sharing.) In addition act as a liaison to the business segment, facilitating effective communication and presentation to key business stakeholders as & when required.
3. To validate Change Order Implementation Plan & Human Error Compliance and participate in Capacity planning
4. To ensure positive customer feedback & satisfaction through active participation in customer meetings to understand any issues faced
5. To validate analyses (eg. Root Cause Analysis ,Trend Analysis) and reports to facilitate performance in tasks to be presented to key business stakeholders
