Job Summary

L3 Oracle DBA An L3 Oracle Database Administrator is a senior-level professional responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing Oracle databases, providing expert-level support, mentoring teams, and ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and performance across complex database environments. Key Responsibilities Database Administration & Maintenance: Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle databases (10g, 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c) across Unix/Linux and Windows environments. High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Configure Oracle RAC clusters, Data Guard, Grid Control, and implement backup/restore procedures using RMAN to ensure minimal downtime. Performance Tuning & Optimization: Monitor and tune database performance, perform SQL and system-level optimizations, conduct capacity planning, and manage table/index reorganization. Security & Standards Compliance: Implement and maintain security patches, configure user roles, and enforce corporate DBMS security policies. Technical Leadership & Support: Provide 2nd and 3rd level support, guide development teams on database best practices, and participate in design discussions for new or upgraded applications. Documentation & Procedures: Develop and maintain operational manuals, disaster recovery plans, and database architectural documents. Cross-Technology Expertise: Support additional database technologies like MSSQL, DB2, or Sybase, and administer applications integrated with database systems (Weblogic, OBIEE, Tableau, Informatica) if applicable. Mentoring & Team Management: Lead junior DBAs, provide status updates to management, and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLA).
