AIX Consultant - Role Summary Experienced AIX Consultant responsible for managing and supporting enterprise UNIX/AIX environments, ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and adherence to security and compliance standards. Documentation & Governance Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and runbooks Ensure audit readiness and compliance documentation Mandatory Skills Strong hands-on experience in IBM AIX (6.x/7.x) Expertise in Unix/Linux administration (RHEL/SUSE – good to have) Knowledge of LVM, NIM, VIOS, PowerVM virtualization Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting Good understanding of ITIL processes Good to Have Exposure to cloud (AWS/Azure) with AIX/Linux workloads Experience with Ansible / automation tools Knowledge of backup tools (NetBackup, TSM, etc.) Experience & Qualification 8–12 years of overall IT experience (typical for E3.2 band) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science Behavioral Competencies Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Customer-facing communication capability Ability to work in 24x7 support model Band Mapping Insight (for your reference) E3.2 typically aligns with: Senior Consultant / Lead Analyst Strong individual contributor with mentoring responsibilities Handles critical incidents, design inputs, and optimization
Key Responsibilities
2. To perform value addition activities (such as mentoring administrators/team members, preparing SOPs, maintaining effective documentation simultaneously and Knowledge sharing.) In addition act as a liaison to the business segment, facilitating effective communication and presentation to key business stakeholders as & when required.
3. To validate Change Order Implementation Plan & Human Error Compliance and participate in Capacity planning
4. To ensure positive customer feedback & satisfaction through active participation in customer meetings to understand any issues faced
5. To validate analyses (eg. Root Cause Analysis ,Trend Analysis) and reports to facilitate performance in tasks to be presented to key business stakeholders
