Job Summary

Azure FinOps Operations Engineer / Azure FinOps Analyst Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Azure FinOps Operations Engineer to manage, monitor, and optimize cloud expenditure across Microsoft Azure environments. The role will be responsible for ensuring cost transparency, budget adherence, resource optimization, financial governance, and continuous improvement of cloud consumption practices while collaborating with Cloud Operations, Architecture, Application Teams, and Finance stakeholder

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Cost Management • Monitor and analyze Azure consumption and spending trends across subscriptions, resource groups, and services. • Maintain Azure Cost Management dashboards and executive reporting. • Track actual spend against budgets and forecasts. • Perform monthly cloud cost reviews with stakeholders. • Identify cost anomalies and recommend corrective actions. Cost Optimization & FinOps Governance • Conduct rightsizing assessments for VMs, Databases, Storage Accounts, AKS Clusters, and App Services. • Identify idle, orphaned, or underutilized resources and recommend remediation. • Optimize Reserved Instances (RI), Savings Plans, and Licensing Benefits. • Drive resource tagging compliance for chargeback/showback models. • Define and enforce FinOps governance policies and standards. Reporting & Analytics • Prepare weekly and monthly cloud financial reports. • Create and maintain Power BI dashboards for cloud financial visibility. • Provide trend analysis, forecasting, and budget variance reports. • Generate subscription-wise, business-unit-wise, and application-wise cost reports. Financial Planning • Support annual and quarterly cloud budgeting exercises. • Forecast Azure expenditure using historical utilization patterns. • Assist business units in estimating cloud costs for new projects and migrations. Operational Excellence • Monitor Azure Advisor recommendations and track implementation. • Work with engineering teams to continuously improve cost efficiency. • Establish FinOps KPIs and cloud financial health metrics. • Facilitate regular Cloud Cost Optimization reviews. Stakeholder Management • Coordinate with: o Cloud Operations Teams o Azure Architects o Application Owners o Finance Teams o Procurement Teams o Business Stakeholders • Present optimization opportunities and investment recommendations to leadership
