Job Summary
Required technical foundation:
- Containerisation and Kubernetes as patterns and key platform technologies, RKE2 preferred here
- Linux operating system management at production depth
- Software architecture and design at senior engineer level, capable of designing systems, not just implementing within someone else's design
- Continuous deployment patterns, processes, and behaviours, with trunk-based development as the operating norm
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide Technical Guidance And Solutions By Defining, Advocating, And Implementing Best Practices And Coding Standards In Embedded Linux Development, Ensuring High-Quality Outputs From The Team.
2. Develop And Enhance The Technical Capabilities Of Team Members By Conducting Training Sessions And Mentoring, Thereby Increasing Overall Productivity.
3. Ensure Process Compliance Within The Assigned Module By Participating In Technical Discussions And Reviews, Serving As A Consultant For Feasibility Studies, Evaluating Technical Alternatives, And Assessing Potential Risks.
4. Prepare And Submit Status Reports To Management, Focusing On Minimizing Exposure And Risks Associated With The Project, And Effectively Addressing Any Escalations That May Arise.

Required operating model fluency
• Test-driven development as a discipline
• Production ownership culture: "you build it, you run it" including on-call participation, post-incident review participation, and reliability accountability
• Comfort operating without traditional safety nets (no code freezes, no UAT periods, no manual QA gates, no CAB approvals for standard deployments).

Required AI fluency
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI development tooling (Claude Code, AWS Kiro, Cursor, or equivalent) at senior level.
We expect senior engineers to operate at meaningfully higher velocity/speed through agentic tooling.
• Comfortable architecting AI-assisted developer workflows for the team's benefit.
Bonus:
- Experience with software-based infrastructure, hypervisor technologies (KVM/QEMU preferred), VXLAN, SDN, advanced networking.
- Experience with event-driven architecture and message-oriented middleware at scale
- Experience with observability engineering (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, distributed tracing) at senior practitioner level
Other Requirements
1. Optional But Valuable Certifications Include Certified Embedded Systems Engineer (Cese) Or Linux Professional Institute Certification (Lpic-1).
