Job Summary

SAP Inhouse Consultant for Controlling and Project System (CO / PS) to join our India-based SAP Application Management Services team.

This role focuses on ensuring stable operations, driving enhancements, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives for SAP S/4HANA Controlling and Project System processes in an international environment.
The primary focus is on financial controlling and project controlling (especially WBS).
SAP FI / Accounting is not part of the core responsibility, however experience in FI is considered an advantage for understanding integrated end-to-end processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring end-to-end business operations (L3 support) for SAP Controlling and Project System–related processes
  • Analyze, process and resolve incidents, problems and service requests in the SAP CO / PS environment
  • Prepare functional and technical specifications and maintain solution, process and test documentation 
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions 
  • Plan and execute change requests, enhancements and continuous improvements for CO and PS processes
  • Ensuring all changes are executed within a validated, GxP-regulated SAP environment, including documentation of test evidence, risk assessments and quality approvals 
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities from a CO and project controlling perspective
  • Configure and enhance SAP components, including: 
    • SAP CO
    • SAP PS, with strong focus on Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project cost planning, tracking and settlement
  • Advise business stakeholders on SAP S/4HANA Controlling and Project System capabilities, standardization and Clean Core–aligned solutions
  • Collaborate with ABAP and Fiori development teams for enhancements, bug fixes and technical implementations 
  • Support functional and automated regression testing together with test automation teams

Skill Requirements

  • > 5 years of experience in SAP Controlling and project system (CO/PS), 
    incl. > 1 year of 
    experience working in a validated GxP SAP environment with strong focus on documentation, CSV/CSA & regulatory compliance
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP CO, especially:
    • CO-OM (-OPA / -CCA)
    • CO-PC
    • CO-PA
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP PS, especially: 
    • Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
    • Project cost planning, monitoring and settlement
  • Hands-on exposure to SAP S/4HANA CO / PS simplifications and Fiori
  • Basic understanding of ABAP/4, ABAP OO and SAP Fiori concepts, enhancements and hands-on debugging
  • Basic knowledge of SAP FI / Accounting is desirable
  • Experience in agile and classical project delivery models
  • Experience in business consulting, incident, request and change management is an advantage
