Job Description
Technical Architect
Bengaluru, Karnataka

Job Summary

We are migrating a portfolio of cloud services to AWS and need an experienced AWS Cloud Architect / Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, and lead the migration of containerized and platform services, networking, security, and CI/CD into AWS while ensuring operational reliability, cost efficiency, and compliance.
The ideal candidate has deep end-to-end AWS experience and proven hands-on expertise leading cloud migration programs.

Key Responsibilities

Lead architectural design and implementation of AWS target landing zones, account strategy (AWS Organizations), networking (VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect/VPN), and security controls consistent with enterprise best practices.
Assess existing environments, map services and dependencies, produce migration plans, cutover/runbooks, and validation strategies.
Design cloud-native and container-focused architectures on AWS using services such as EKS, EC2, ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, S3, EFS, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, X-Ray, and Route 53.
Define migration patterns (rehost, replatform, refactor) and recommend the appropriate approach per workload.
Implement CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CodePipeline, ArgoCD, Tekton, or similar) integrated with infrastructure-as-code.
Build and maintain IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK; implement modular, testable, and reusable patterns.
Implement observability (metrics, logging, tracing) and SRE practices (SLIs/SLOs, runbooks, incident response).
Define security guardrails: least-privilege IAM, network segmentation, encryption, secrets management (AWS Secrets Manager, HashiCorp Vault), image scanning, and supply-chain security.
Optimize cost (rightsizing, reserved instances/savings plans, spot, and cost allocation tagging).
Mentor platform and application teams; produce documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.
Drive migration execution: pilot migrations, cutover plans, rollback strategies, validation, and post-migration tuning.
Collaborate with compliance, change management, and enterprise architecture stakeholders.

Skill Requirements

Total experience of 10+ years with 6+ years of cloud engineering experience and with 3+ years of hands-on AWS architecture and operations.
Proven experience migrating workloads to AWS, especially containerized workloads.
Strong Kubernetes skills: cluster design, storage, networking, operators, and lifecycle management.
Hands-on with AWS container services: EKS preferred; familiarity with ECS/Fargate a plus.
Proficiency with IaC tools: Terraform strongly preferred; CloudFormation or CDK acceptable.
Deep networking experience: VPC design, routing, Transit Gateway, security groups/NACLs, Direct Connect and VPN.
Security and identity experience: IAM policies/roles, KMS, secrets management, and compliance controls.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
