Job Summary

 

The Teamcenter Infrastructure Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and governing the infrastructure landscape supporting Siemens Teamcenter PLM solutions. The role ensures scalability, performance, security, availability, and seamless integration across enterprise ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

Teamcenter Architecture & Deployment

  • Design end-to-end Teamcenter infrastructure architecture for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Lead Teamcenter installation, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
  • Define sizing, capacity planning, and infrastructure standards for Teamcenter deployments.
  • Design multi-site and global Teamcenter architectures.

Infrastructure Design

  • Architect solutions involving:
    • Teamcenter Enterprise Tier
    • Web Tier
    • FSC/FMS
    • Volume Servers
    • Active Workspace
    • Dispatcher Services
    • Visualization Services
    • Teamcenter Environment Manager (TEM)
  • Design high availability and disaster recovery configurations.
  • Ensure infrastructure resiliency and business continuity.

Database & Application Management

  • Architect Teamcenter environments using:
    • Oracle Database
    • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Work closely with DBAs for:
    • Database tuning
    • Backup & recovery
    • Replication strategies
    • Capacity planning

Cloud & Modernization

  • Design Teamcenter deployments on:
    • Microsoft Azure
    • AWS
    • Private Cloud
  • Lead containerization and automation initiatives where applicable.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategies using Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShell.

Performance Optimization

  • Perform:
    • Teamcenter performance assessments
    • Infrastructure health checks
    • Root cause analysis
    • Capacity analysis
  • Optimize:
    • FMS performance
    • Web tier response times
    • Database performance
    • Network latency

Security & Compliance

  • Implement:
    • LDAP / Active Directory integration
    • SSO / SAML authentication
    • Role-based access controls
    • Security hardening standards
  • Support audit and compliance requirements.

Integrations

  • Architect infrastructure supporting integrations with:
    • SAP
    • ERP systems
    • CAD applications (NX, Solid Edge, CATIA, Creo)
    • MES
    • Manufacturing platforms
  • Support enterprise middleware and API frameworks.

Skill Requirements

Teamcenter Expertise

  • 8+ years of Teamcenter administration and infrastructure experience.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Teamcenter 11/12/13/14+
    • Active Workspace (AWC)
    • FMS/FSC
    • Volume Management
    • Dispatcher
    • TEM
    • Teamcenter Security

Infrastructure Skills

  • Windows Server Administration
  • Linux Administration (RHEL/SUSE)
  • VMware / Hyper-V
  • Load Balancers (F5, Netscaler)
  • DNS, Firewall, Network Architecture

Database Knowledge

  • Oracle RAC
  • Oracle Administration Concepts
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Backup & Recovery Strategies
