Technical Consultant

Job Summary

To understand client requirements to propose & deliver technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. To analyze |define and design technical solution for ERP product’s enhancement and work towards continuous improvement during product implementation and production support stages.
2. To coordinate with technical teams for pending RICEFs.
3. To interact with the client and other functional teams for gaining understanding of the requirements.
4. To participate in team meetings.
5. To train others and prepare and deliver presentations for knowledge sharing amongst different teams in the project.

Skill Requirements

Functional Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to:
    • Demand Planning (Forecasting, Demand sensing, Promotions)
    • Supply Planning (Supply balancing, constrained planning, deployment)
  • Design end-to-end solutions aligned with business processes and Blue Yonder capabilities.
  • Configure and implement:
    • Forecast models
    • Supply planning strategies
    • Planning parameters
  • Conduct workshops and drive solution blueprinting with stakeholders.
  • Map business processes to system functionalities and recommend improvements.
  • Support UAT, training, and user adoption.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Configure Blue Yonder modules including:
    • Data models, measures, hierarchies
    • Workflows, alerts, and batch jobs
  • Hands-on experience in:
    • SQL / PL-SQL
    • Data integration (ETL tools, APIs, Flat files)
  • Develop and troubleshoot:
    • Interfaces between BY and upstream/downstream systems (ERP, SAP, etc.)
    • Stored procedures, triggers, and custom scripts
  • Perform system performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Support enhancements, bug fixes, and deployments.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Skills

  • Strong experience in Blue Yonder (JDA) Demand Planning and/or Supply Planning modules
  • Knowledge of:
    • Forecasting techniques (statistical models, causal forecasting)
    • Supply planning concepts (constraints, safety stock, deployment)
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • BY configuration tools (SCPO, ESP, Luminate Platform)
    • Data modeling and workflow setup

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in:
    • SQL query writing and performance tuning
    • Data integration concepts (ETL, APIs)
  • Understanding of:
    • BY architecture and data flow
    • Cloud (Luminate Platform) is a plus

Functional Expertise

  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain Planning processes
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP/APO/IBP preferred)
  • Ability to translate business requirements into system design

Other Requirements

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a client-facing environment
  • Agile / Scrum experience preferred

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, IT, or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in BY/JDA implementations or support
  • Certifications in Blue Yonder (preferred but not mandatory)

Nice to Have

  • Experience in:
    • S&OP / IBP processes
    • Control Tower / End-to-End visibility solutions
  • Exposure to:
    • Python / scripting for automation
    • Cloud-based deployments (Azure/AWS)
