Role Summary : SAP ABAP on HANA Consultant (S/4HANA & BTP)
Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled SAP ABAP Consultant with a deep focus on S/4HANA architecture. The ideal candidate will transition traditional RICEFW development into the modern era by leveraging the SAP RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) and adhering to "Clean Core" principles to ensure upgrade-stable, high-performance extensions.
Key Responsibilities
Mandatory Technical Skills:
· Modern ABAP Development: Advanced proficiency in Object-Oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP) and the SAP RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) for building transactional and analytical applications.
· Clean Core & Extensibility: Deep understanding of Clean Core principles. Experience implementing Developer Extensibility (Embedded Steampunk) and Side-by-Side Extensibility using SAP BTP to minimize modifications to the standard SAP code.
· Data Modeling: Expert knowledge of Core Data Services (CDS) Views, including VDM (Virtual Data Model) design, annotations, and DCL (Data Control Language) for security.
· Fiori & UI5: Full-stack capability in designing and configuring SAP Fiori applications using SAPUI5, Fiori Elements, and JavaScript. Experience with SAP Business Application Studio (BAS).
· Integration & APIs: Proficiency in developing and consuming OData services (V2/V4) and building robust API integrations between SAP and third-party systems.
· Classic RICEFW (S/4HANA Context): Ability to deliver Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms (Adobe Forms), and Workflows, ensuring they are optimized for the HANA database.
Key Responsibilities:
· Technical Design & Architecture: Translate complex functional requirements into scalable technical designs that prioritize standard SAP functionality and "Clean Core" compliance.
· Performance Optimization: Utilize HANA-specific features (code-to-data paradigm) to optimize backend ABAP code and ensure seamless Fiori user experiences.
· End-to-End Development: Lead the full development lifecycle, from initial prototyping in RAP/CDS to unit testing, integration testing, and post-go-live hyper care.
· Modernization & Refactoring: Identify opportunities to refactor legacy "Z" code into modern, upgrade-stable extensions using Cloud BAdIs and modern extension points.
· Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to SAP best practices, naming conventions, and security standards.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with functional consultants (FI/CO, SD, MM, or PP) to ensure technical solutions align with business process requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
· System Knowledge: Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA (on-premises or cloud) is mandatory.
· BTP Knowledge: Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services, such as SAP Build or SAP Event Mesh, is a significant plus.
· Analytical Excellence: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex standard SAP code and custom extensions.
· Agile Mindset: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
