Job Summary

An Atlassian Administrator with SaaS migration experience specializes in moving and managing Jira and Confluence environments from on-premise (Server/Data Center) infrastructures to the Atlassian Cloud SaaS platform

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Migration Execution: Plan and execute migrations using Atlassian's native tools, specifically JCMA (Jira Cloud Migration Assistant), CCMA (Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant), and BCMA (Bitbucket Cloud Migration Assistant).
  • Application Administration: Manage configurations, security schemes, user permissions, workflows, and custom fields across the Atlassian Cloud stack.
  • App & Data Assessment: Audit, test, and transition third-party Marketplace apps and custom integrations. Map custom fields and clean up historical data before the migration.
  • User Management & Identity: Oversee secure user provisioning, configure Single Sign-On (SSO) integration (like Okta or Azure AD), verify domains, and manage Atlassian Guard features.
  • Post-Migration Support: Troubleshoot discrepancies, analyze application logs, and support stakeholders during stabilization.
  • Workflow Optimization: Build advanced automation rules and manage IT Service Management (ITSM) operations (e.g., SLAs, queues, and request types) in Jira



Skill Requirements

  • Atlassian Expertise: Deep, hands-on administrative experience with Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence Cloud.
  • Migration Proficiency: Strong understanding of Atlassian Cloud migration strategies and limitations.
  • Scripting & Automation: Familiarity with languages like Python, PowerShell, or Groovy to interact with REST APIs, automate workflows, and execute custom migration logic.
  • Database & Querying Skills: Ability to write and update SQL queries to manipulate and export data easily.
  • Identity & Security: Understanding of SAML, LDAP, Active Directory, SSO, and user lifecycle management.
  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills to coordinate with development teams, cross-functional partners, and end-users during major system transitions.
