Job Summary

Position Summary The Software Developer on the Vulcan Development Team designs, develops, and sustains software tools, automated workflows, and supporting platform capabilities used by product development to enable virtual simulation and performance prediction. This role combines software engineering fundamentals with an understanding of engineering workflows to translate customer and internal needs into scalable, reliable, and supportable solutions. The developer collaborates with cross-functional partners to define requirements, implement new features and integrations, validate results through testing, and provide documentation and guidance that improve product decisions, streamline engineering workflows, and accelerate development cycles. • Responsibilities This position is responsible for developing, integrating, testing, and sustaining Vulcan software tools and automated workflows that support tire product development and virtual simulation. Key responsibilities include partnering with product development and other stakeholders to understand business and engineering needs; translating those needs into technical requirements and practical software solutions; designing and implementing workflow components such as scripting, automation, pre- and post-processing, data handling, and tool integrations; and validating software functionality through testing, troubleshooting, and correlation checks. The role also includes reviewing outputs for reasonableness, identifying and resolving defects, contributing to continuous improvement of the Vulcan platform, and creating documentation, training materials, and user support resources to drive adoption. The developer is expected to collaborate across functions, participate in code reviews and release activities, and communicate progress, issues, and solution capabilities effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Position is on-site in Akron Ohio. • Qualifications o Required: minimum bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field o Required: Proficiency in Python. o Preferred: Experience with Javascript and React framework. o Preferred: Experience in Full Stack Development o Preferred: Mongo Db experience o Preferred: Software development experience and database experience. (GIT, Mongo Db, Javascript, AWS) o Preferred: software development life cycle experience and version control o Preferred: Experience using AI agents, like Claude, in support of code development and code review.

Key Responsibilities

1. To be responsible for providing technical guidance / solutions ;define, advocate, and implement best practices and coding standards for the team.
2. To develop and guide the team members in enhancing their technical capabilities and increasing productivity
3. To ensure process compliance in the assigned module| and participate in technical discussions/review as a technical consultant for feasibility study (technical alternatives, best packages, supporting architecture best practices, technical risks, breakdown into components, estimations).
4. To prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure and risks on the project or closure of escalations.

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
