Job Summary

We are the Platform Engineering and Infrastructure team behind Chronicle SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation and Response), part of Google Cloud Security. Google Cloud's largest and most security-conscious customers use our products and expect enterprise-grade reliability, performance and security.
We own the provisioning service for Chronicle's security operations platform and orchestrate the Google Cloud resources and Kubernetes (GKE) workloads that power it. Together with the product development teams, we build the platforms, tools and developer infrastructure that solve recurring operational problems in software.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain: Own your area end to end, build and maintenance of software and systems that improve the reliability, availability and performance of Chronicle SOAR.
• Technical direction: Set technical direction and priorities for the tools, platforms and services that automate complex operational workflows, reduce manual toil and make Chronicle SOAR easier to operate at scale.
• Infrastructure as code: Develop and maintain infrastructure configurations and policies in Go, so that changes to Google Cloud resources are secure, consistent and auditable.
• Observability: Design and implement monitoring, logging and tracing, and the SLOs/SLIs that drive operational decisions.
• Developer efficiency: Invest in developer infrastructure and tooling so the team ships faster and with higher quality.

Skill Requirements

 

• 4+ Years, Experience designing enterprise production systems (distributed systems, microservices, high availability).
• Experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Google Cloud Platform, including infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Linux internals and security principles.
• Experience with observability stacks (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK) and SLO/SLI management.
• Experience with performance tuning, root cause analysis and building resilient systems.
• Experience with database optimization.
• Background in the security domain (SOC, SIEM, SOAR).
