Job Summary

Role summary

We are looking for an IBM Maximo Consultant / Developer with strong hands-on experience in Maximo configuration, customization, development and support. The candidate should be able to configure Maximo applications, build automation scripts and reports, support integrations, participate in workshops, prepare technical documentation and deliver high-quality solutions for manufacturing asset management and maintenance processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Configure Maximo applications, screens, fields, domains, conditional UI, security groups, Start Centers, workflows, escalations and communication templates based on business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Automation Scripts, MIF object structures, enterprise services, publish channels, integration mappings, BIRT reports and deployment/migration packages.
  • Support manufacturing EAM processes such as asset register, location hierarchy, work orders, preventive maintenance, job plans, meters, inventory, procurement and service requests.
  • Participate in requirement walkthroughs, fit-gap analysis, design reviews, unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing and defect resolution.
  • Support data-load and migration activities for assets, locations, PMs, job plans, meters, spare parts, failure codes and work history.
  • Troubleshoot configuration, workflow, report, integration, performance and production support issues in Maximo environments.
  • Coordinate with functional consultants, integration teams, QA teams, business users and plant maintenance stakeholders.
  • Prepare configuration documents, technical specifications, unit-test evidence, deployment notes and knowledge-transfer material.

Skill area

Expected proficiency

IBM Maximo

Hands-on experience in Maximo 7.6.x and/or Maximo Application Suite configuration, customization, enhancement and support.

Configuration

Application Designer, Database Configuration, Domains, Workflows, Escalations, Communication Templates, Security Groups, Start Centers and KPI/result sets.

Development

Automation Scripts/Jython, MIF object structures, reports, migration manager packages, basic Java/MBO understanding and troubleshooting.

EAM processes

Good understanding of assets, locations, WO, PM, job plans, meters, inventory, procurement, service requests and maintenance planning.

Integration support

Exposure to REST/SOAP APIs, flat files, XML/JSON, ERP integration, SAP PM interface concepts, MES/SCADA/historian or IoT data exchange.

Testing and support

Unit testing, SIT/UAT support, defect analysis, incident resolution, production support, deployment notes and release coordination.

Predictive maintenance exposure

Good-to-have exposure to condition monitoring, asset health, equipment downtime analysis, IoT data, alerts or predictive maintenance use cases.

Soft skills

Clear communication, documentation discipline, analytical problem solving and ability to work under a senior Maximo lead/architect.

 

Other Requirements

Mandatory qualifications

  • 6–8 years of IT/EAM experience with strong hands-on IBM Maximo experience.
  • Experience in at least one implementation, upgrade, rollout, enhancement or production-support engagement.
  • Practical knowledge of Maximo configuration, customization, development and testing activities.
  • Ability to work with functional requirements and convert them into configuration, scripts, reports or integration components.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing maintenance and asset management processes.

Good-to-have skills

  • Exposure to Maximo Scheduler, Maximo Mobile, Maximo Anywhere, Maximo Monitor/Health/Predict or Asset Performance Management modules.
  • Experience with SAP PM, procurement/finance interfaces, MES/SCADA/historian/IoT integrations, OPC UA/MQTT concepts or cloud deployment support.
  • Basic understanding of equipment reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, failure codes, downtime, criticality and preventive maintenance optimization.
  • IBM Maximo training/certification or industry exposure in manufacturing, life sciences, automotive, mining, energy, utilities or process industries.
