Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Groovy Developer with a strong background in Java and Jira administration/customization to join our Jira team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining Jira customizations using Groovy, Script Runner, and Java while ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

The role involves working closely with Product Owners, Jira Administrators, Solution Architects, and business stakeholders to automate processes, develop integrations, and support the organization's Jira ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Groovy scripts using ScriptRunner for Jira.
Develop custom workflow validators, conditions, post functions, listeners, scheduled jobs, and REST endpoints.
Customize Jira workflows, screens, fields, permissions, and issue types based on business requirements.
Develop Java-based extensions and reusable components where required.
Build and maintain integrations between Jira and enterprise applications using REST APIs.
Analyze existing customizations and recommend improvements aligned with Jira Cloud/Data Center best practices.
Troubleshoot production issues related to Jira scripting, workflows, and integrations.
Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and secure development practices.
Support Jira platform upgrades, plugin compatibility validation, and migration activities.
Create technical documentation for developed solutions and operational procedures.
Collaborate with Agile teams during requirement analysis, estimation, development, testing, and deployment.
Required Skills

Technical Skills

Strong programming experience in Groovy.
Solid knowledge of Java
Hands-on experience with ScriptRunner for Jira.
Good understanding of Jira Administration.
Experience in Jira workflow customization.
Experience with Jira REST APIs.
Knowledge of Atlassian SDK and plugin development.
Experience working with JSON and RESTful web services.
Nice to Have

Experience with Atlassian Forge or Connect Apps.
Knowledge of Jira Cloud migration projects.
Knowledge of OAuth, SAML, and enterprise authentication.
Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.
Preferred Experience

Enterprise Jira implementations supporting thousands of users.
Large-scale workflow customization.
Complex automation development.
Integration with enterprise systems such as Azure AD, ServiceNow, SAP, or other business applications.
Experience supporting Jira Cloud or Data Center migration initiatives.
