Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Python Developer to build an AI-assisted migration accelerator that converts Cognos Framework Manager models, Cognos reports, XML artifacts, and Cognos SDK metadata into LookML semantic models, Explores, dashboards, and reusable migration assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop migration automation framework using Python.
  • Build parsers for Cognos FM models, XML files, report specifications, and Cognos SDK outputs.
  • Develop metadata extraction and lineage generation capabilities.
  • Convert Cognos business models into LookML structures.
  • Generate LookML views, models, Explores, and dashboard templates automatically.
  • Build rule engines and mapping frameworks for Cognos-to-Looker transformation.
  • Develop validation and reconciliation utilities.
  • Integrate Gemini/LLM-based code generation and metadata interpretation capabilities.
  • Create APIs and orchestration services for migration workflows.
  • Support large-scale Cognos-to-Looker modernization programs.

Skill Requirements

  • Expert Python development (8+ years).
  • Strong XML parsing and metadata processing.
  • Experience with SDK/API integrations.
  • Strong OOP and design pattern knowledge.
  • SQL and data modeling expertise.
  • Git, CI/CD, testing frameworks.
  • REST API development.
  • Experience building code generators or transformation frameworks.
