Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to lead the migration of Apigee Edge and OPDK documentation from docs.apigee.com to docs.cloud.google.com (DCGC). This role involves restructuring information architecture, reviewing and maintaining content accuracy, and ensuring full compliance with Google Cloud publishing standards.

Content Migration & Architecture:
Propose and execute a new Information Architecture (IA) and redirect strategy to seamlessly transition documentation to DCGC layout conventions.
Authoring & Publishing:
Update, restructure, and publish content written in Markdown, HTML, and YAML using DevSite2 CLI tools and internal source control (Piper/g3doc). All authoring is done as code in Critique (no WYSIWYG), using version control principles.
API Documentation & Automation:
Generate and maintain API reference docs from .proto files using Docgen and Bash scripts from the command line.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with Engineering, iX, and DKP teams to resolve technical issues, track feedback in Buganizer, and manage launch readiness via Turbo.
Version Strategy:
Define and implement version management strategies for historical and versioned OPDK content.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Technical Expertise:
Ability to quickly ramp up and understand the Apigee Edge and On-Premises Private Cloud (OPDK) architecture.
Languages & Tooling:
Proficiency in Markdown, HTML, YAML, Linux terminal commands, Bash scripting, and .proto files.
Google Tools & Ecosystem:
Familiarity with Piper, Cider, Critique, Buganizer, and Code Search.
Problem-Solving:
Proactive leadership in identifying documentation issues, establishing priorities, and negotiating cross-functional solutions.
AI fluency:
Using Gemini Enterprise for Google, LLM Extension, Writing Assistant, Cider Agent, Duckie, along with Agent Skills, to automate toil, such as summarizing design docs, checking style adherence, formatting code samples, and fixing contextual errors in CLs.
Initiative & Accountability:
Strong history of driving complex projects to conclusion, providing status updates regularly, and proactively identifying roadblocks.
