Job Summary

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Azure Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Azure Databases, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Azure Data Lake (ADLS). The ideal candidate will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms on Microsoft Azure to support analytics and business intelligence needs.

Azure Data Platforms

  • Design and implement data solutions using Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and/or Cosmos DB
  • Optimize database performance, indexing, partitioning, and query tuning
  • Implement data security, access control, encryption, and backup strategies

Azure Data Factory (ADF)

  • Design, develop, and maintain ADF pipelines for batch and incremental data loads
  • Integrate data from multiple sources (on-premises, cloud, APIs, files)
  • Implement ETL/ELT processes using ADF activities, mappings, and triggers
  • Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline failures and performance issues

Azure Data Lake (ADLS)

  • Design and manage data storage using Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
  • Organize data using medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) where applicable
  • Ensure efficient ingestion, retention, and lifecycle management of data
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to enable data consumption

Data Engineering & Governance

  • Implement data quality checks, validation, and reconciliation
  • Support data governance, metadata management, and auditing
  • Work with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines for data solutions
  • Create technical documentation and best practices

Skill Requirements

Required Skills

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Hands-on experience with ADLS Gen2
  • Proficiency in Azure Databases (Azure SQL, Synapse, Cosmos DB – at least one)
  • Strong SQL skills (T-SQL or equivalent)
  • Experience with ETL/ELT concepts
  • Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and pipeline monitoring

Programming & Tools

  • Experience with Python, PySpark, or Scala (nice to have)
  • Understanding of Power BI or other reporting tools (preferred)
  • Source control using Git / Azure DevOps
  • Exposure to ARM/Bicep or Terraform is a plus

Other Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., DP-203: Azure Data Engineer Associate)
  • Experience with large-scale data processing
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and dimensional modeling
  • Exposure to streaming data (Event Hub, Kafka – optional)

  • Good communication and stakeholder management
  • Ability to work independently and in agile teams
  • Willingness to learn and adopt new Azure services
