Job Summary

ACD Administrator & Customization Specialist

Role Overview

The ACD Administrator & Customization Specialist will be responsible for planning, executing, and validating the migration and upgrade of the Windchill Advanced Content Delivery (ACD) platform. The role will focus on environment administration, application configuration, customization migration, performance optimization, and ensuring business continuity throughout the cloud migration and upgrade lifecycle.

Experience

  • 8+ years of PTC ecosystem experience
  • 5+ years of ACD administration and customization experience
  • Experience supporting cloud migration and upgrade projects
  • Experience with Windchill integrations and publishing solutions
  • Experience with Azure/AWS hosted environments

Key Responsibilities

Assessment & Planning

  • Assess existing ACD architecture and deployment topology
  • Review customizations, integrations, publishing workflows, and dependencies
  • Analyze infrastructure sizing and capacity requirements
  • Develop migration and upgrade strategy
  • Identify risks and mitigation plans

Environment Administration

  • Install, configure, and maintain ACD environments
  • Configure application settings and system parameters
  • Manage user access, security settings, and role mappings
  • Configure load balancing and resiliency mechanisms
  • Support multi-environment deployment strategy

Customization Migration

  • Assess existing ACD custom code
  • Remediate customization compatibility issues
  • Migrate custom extensions and configurations
  • Validate upgraded custom functionality
  • Support regression testing activities

Upgrade Execution

  • Execute upgrade activities
  • Perform application configuration updates
  • Resolve upgrade-related issues
  • Validate application stability
  • Support rehearsal and production cutover activities

Integration Support

  • Validate interfaces with:
    • Windchill
    • APE
    • ThingWorx
    • Authentication systems
    • External publishing repositories

Performance Tuning

  • Review application performance
  • Optimize response times
  • Tune JVM and application parameters
  • Support capacity planning exercises

Deliverables

  • Configuration Documentation
  • Cutover Plan

Success Criteria

  • Zero critical production issues post go-live
  • Successful migration of all customizations

  • Successful production cutover within approved window
