Job Summary

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Cost Optimization Professional to lead cost reduction, Project  costing, and budgeting & forecasting, Capex etc  initiatives across automotive and manufacturing programs. The role requires extensive expertise in manufacturing processes, cost accounting, financial analysis, RFQ management, and cross-functional project execution. The candidate will work closely with engineering, purchasing, finance, suppliers, and program teams to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining product quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Cost Optimization & Cost Engineering

  • Lead cost optimization and cost reduction initiatives across vehicle systems, components, and manufacturing processes.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives across the programs and implementation with stakeholders.
  • Analyze supplier quotations and validate manufacturing feasibility, cycle times, material consumption, and conversion costs.
  • Support strategic sourcing decisions through comprehensive cost benchmarking.

RFQ Management & Supplier Costing

  • Manage end-to-end RFQ (Request for Quotation) evaluation processes.
  • Validate supplier quotations using should-costing models and manufacturing assumptions.
  • Support supplier negotiations through data-driven cost breakdowns.
  • Work closely with purchasing teams on sourcing strategies and supplier selection.
  • Conduct quote normalization and commercial comparison studies.

Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances, productivity, overhead allocation, and operational costs.
  • Monitor actual costs versus budget and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support annual operating plans and long-term cost optimization strategies.
  • Drive cost transparency across the product lifecycle.

Project Planning & Program Management

  • Lead cost-engineering workstreams across multiple projects.
  • Develop project plans, milestones, schedules, and resource requirements.
  • Track deliverables and ensure timely completion of cost studies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional reviews with engineering, purchasing, quality, and operations teams.
  • Present project status, risks, mitigation plans, and savings opportunities to leadership.

Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop management dashboards, MIS reports, and cost tracking tools.
  • Perform advanced data analysis using Excel and ERP systems.
  • Generate periodic reports on cost-saving initiatives and project performance.

Support business case preparation for investment and sourcing decisions.

Skill Requirements

1. Proficiency in component cost estimation methodologies and tools such as boothroyd and seer galorath.
2. Strong analytical skills to interpret cost estimation data and provide valuable insights.
3. Experience in leading cost estimation projects and managing teams effectively.
4. In-depth knowledge of engineering components and manufacturing processes.
5. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders effectively.

Essential Qualification

  • ICMA / CMA (Mandatory)

Preferred Qualification

                Cost  accountant degree

Certifications (Preferred)

  • SAP S/4HANA Certification
  • Cost Accounting Certification
  • Finance & Controlling Certifications
  • Project Management Certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM, etc.)
  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma Certifications
