Job Summary
- Design and implement Gateway APIs used by Google CXAS agents, including session initialization, journey resolution, state transitions and business-operation execution.
- Strong production backend development experience in Python, Java preferably FastAPI or an equivalent framework.
- REST APIs, OpenAPI specifications, JSON Schema and typed request/response validation.
- Practical experience implementing workflow engines, finite-state machines or business-process orchestration.
- Distributed systems concepts: Concurrency, retries, timeouts and transaction boundaries.
- Experience with persistent data stores and session management.
- Google Cloud delivery experience, including IAM, containerized services, logging, monitoring and secrets management.
- Enterprise API integration and automated unit, integration and contract testing.
- Implement an external state engine covering current journey, active state, required information, pending actions, customer confirmation and completion status.
- Define versioned journey configurations, transition rules, policies and state-specific response guidance.
- Ensure the Gateway validates actions proposed by an agent against current state, identity, authorization and business rules.
- Develop adapters for customer backend systems using approved API contracts.
- Implement timeouts, retries, idempotency, concurrency controls and recovery from partial failures.
- Persist session state and audit records with appropriate isolation, retention and protection of customer data.
- Implement authentication, authorization, secrets management and service-to-service security.
- Provide correlated traces showing the incoming request, policy decision, state before and after, backend operation and response.
- Integrate automated tests and AgentCert evidence into the development workflow.
- Package and deploy services to the agreed Google Cloud environment, including Cloud Run where selected.
- Produce API documentation, architecture decisions, operational runbooks and handover material.
