Job Summary

The junior position supports the management and maintenance of data center and DMZ network environments, primarily focusing on Cisco Nexus and Catalyst platforms. The role involves assisting with network operations, troubleshooting, and routine upgrades under the guidance of senior engineers. Candidates should have foundational knowledge of switching and routing protocols at a CCNP level or equivalent, with hands-on experience in data center platforms and DMZ environments. Attention to detail, an operations-focused mindset, and willingness to work weekends as needed are essential. Experience with load balancers and Arista platforms is a plus but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in hands-on operations and support of Cisco Data Center platforms, including Nexus 9000, 7000, and 5000 series switches.
  • Support Catalyst family switches as needed.
  • Assist in managing and optimizing DMZ and Load Balancer environments.
  • Perform switching and routing tasks, including troubleshooting network issues; junior roles perform these under supervision, while senior roles handle complex issues independently.
  • Assist with NX-OS code upgrades and learn/apply vPC concepts (junior level).
  • Lead hands-on management and support of Cisco Data Center platforms and DMZ environments (senior level).
  • Provide expert-level switching and routing support and take ownership of escalations and critical incidents (senior level).
  • Mentor junior team members and ensure operational excellence with strong attention to detail (senior level).
  • Follow operational procedures carefully and maintain an operations-focused mindset.
  • Be available to work weekends as required to support network operations.

 

Skill Requirements

  • Support and assist in hands-on operations of Cisco Data Center platforms, including Nexus 9000, 7000, and 5000 series switches.
  • Provide support for Cisco Catalyst family switches as needed.
  • Assist in managing and supporting DMZ and Load Balancer environments.
  • Perform switching and routing tasks under supervision or guidance.
  • Troubleshoot network issues with appropriate guidance.
  • Follow operational procedures with strong attention to detail.
  • Maintain an operations-focused mindset to ensure network reliability and performance.
  • Develop familiarity with NX-OS and virtual Port Channel (vPC) concepts.
  • Support Data Center and DMZ environments, including Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches.
  • Be available to work weekends as required to support operational needs.
  • Work towards or maintain CCNP level knowledge and certification.

Other Requirements

  • Experience with Arista platforms is a plus but not mandatory.



Maximum Salary (US):  128000
Minimum Salary (US):  69000

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
