Job Summary

Job Title: Tosca Test Automation Engineer
Experience Level: Mid-to-Senior (4+ Years)

📌 Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Tosca Test Automation Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust, scriptless automated test solutions using Tricentis Tosca . You will focus on accelerating our testing cycles, maximizing test coverage via Model-Based Test Automation (MBTA), and ensuring top-tier software quality across web, desktop, API, and packaged enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

Automation Design & Execution

• Design, build, and maintain stable, scalable, and reusable automated test scripts using Tricentis Tosca .
• Create dynamic, model-based automation workflows using reusable Modules, Libraries, and Test Step Blocks.

Test Case Design (TCD) & Data

• Implement best-practice test designs using Tosca Test Case Design (TCD) to manage stateful data and minimize redundancies .
• Utilize Test Data Service (TDS) and Excel operations for centralized, data-driven automation .

API & Backend Integration

• Perform end-to-end testing of REST/SOAP APIs and databases using SQL and database validation .
• Validate data integrity across integrated software platforms (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Server) .

CI/CD & Execution

• Integrate Tosca automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab) to support Continuous Testing.
• Set up and monitor Distributed Execution (DEX) environments .

Defect Triage & Error Handling

• Design robust Recovery Scenarios and cleanup mechanisms to manage execution exceptions and keep tests stable .
• Lead defect triage sessions, perform root-cause analysis, and track issues to closure .

🛠️ Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Overall Experience: Minimum 4+ years of experience in Software Testing with at least 3+ years of dedicated, hands-on automation experience using Tricentis Tosca .
  • Core Competency: Deep understanding of Tosca’s Model-Based Test Automation (MBTA) framework, standard/Aidpack modules, and object identification .
  • Integrations & Packages: Strong experience automating Web, API/Web Services, and at least one enterprise system (e.g., SAP GUI/Fiori, Salesforce, or Veeva Vault) .
  • Database Skills: Solid proficiency in writing SQL queries for backend data validation and database testing .
  • Methodologies: Strong working knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery methods, test management, and requirements traceability .

🎓 Preferred Certifications

Candidates holding any of the following active Tricentis certifications will be highly preferred:

  1. Automation Specialist Level 1 & 2 (AS1 / AS2)
  2. Test Design Specialist Level 1 & 2 (TDS1 / TDS2)
  3. Automation Engineer Level 1 & 2 (AE1 / AE2)
