Job Summary

Own end-to-end FinOps operations across AWS, Azure, and GCP with around 10-15 years of experience - driving cost visibility, optimization, forecasting, and governance - while shaping and scaling the FinOps CoE's standards, tooling, and playbooks. This is a hybrid individual-contributor and functional-leadership role: hands-on with cost data and stakeholder-facing on strategy.

Key Responsibilities

CoE / Governance

  • Define and maintain FinOps policies, tagging standards, showback/chargeback models, and maturity frameworks across business units.
  • Build reusable playbooks, dashboards, and automation assets adopted org wide.
  • Drive FinOps Foundation practice maturity assessments (Inform – Optimize – Operate).
  • Mentor L1/L2 analysts; act as escalation point for complex cost anomalies.
  • Cloud infrastructure knowledge is must.
  • Prgraming skill would be preferred.

Operations

  • Lead monthly/quarterly cost allocation, budget vs. actuals, and variance analysis across multi-cloud environments.
  • Manage Reserved Instance / Savings Plan / Committed Use Discount portfolios and renewal strategy.
  • Drive rightsizing, idle-resource elimination, and architecture-level optimization initiatives with engineering teams.
  • Own cost anomaly detection and root-cause investigation.
  • Partner with Finance on unit economics, forecasting, and cloud budget planning.

Stakeholder Leadership

  • Present cost insights and savings roadmaps to engineering, finance, and executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with procurement on vendor negotiations and contract optimization.
  • Drive a cross-functional cost-accountability culture across product and engineering teams.

 

Skill Requirements

  • Strong stakeholder management — able to influence engineering and finance leadership.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication to translate cost data into business narratives.
  • Mentoring/coaching ability for junior FinOps analysts.
