Job Summary
The ETL resource will be a part of a back-office support team which supports the BI infrastructure for Volvo Group. The main components that this ETL specialist will be in touch with are Informatica Powercenter, Oracle, Unix scripting and integration products (WebSphere MQ).
Resource will participate both in operational ETL support and platform development activities.
The job will include the following activities (non-exhaustive list) : Installation of Informatica upgrades, including testing Analyze how current ETL setup integrates with the scripting framework, databases and integration products.
Informatica server administration (repository) (for example adding new users, setting up new projects in the repository Solving support cases regarding the ETL setup. This could be Informatica bugs, questions regarding performance, troubleshooting the interaction between the ETL tool, the integration products and the unix scheduling scripts.
Provide help in tuning ETL jobs
Answering question from developers regarding the ETL setup
Make proposals on how the ETL setup can be improved
Maintain, improve and add new functionality to the existing framework.
We are NOT looking for an ETL developer profile but some development experience will be useful.
Profile: At least 5 years of experience with Informatica Powercenter (including Informatica CD IPC) in a large company setup (DEV, TST, QA, PROD servers).
At least 5 years of experience with scripting in a Unix/Linux environment
Solid experience with using integration products like Webshpere MQ in an ETL setup. Experience with MQ connector and/or JMS connector.
Experience with server administration and installation (upgrades, patches,…) of Informatica
At least 2 years of experience with Oracle databases.
Good knowledge of SQL language: Oracle and Sqlserver.
Extensive knowledge of data warehouse design concepts.
Strong understanding of business continuity and recovery processes and procedures.
Ability and willingness to work effectively in a business-critical production, in a global, multi-cultural organization.
Team player and can work autonomous.
Structured and strong analytical skills.
Good knowledge of English (written and oral) and excellent communication and reporting skills.
Stress resistant and you can adjust easily to fast changing environments. Strive continuously for quality and customer's satisfaction.
