Job Summary

Overview: We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and highly skilled SAP Basis Specialist to join our team. This role will serve as a technical consultant in driving technical excellence across our SAP landscapes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP Basis administration, SAP Solution Manager, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and development skills in Python and ABAP. You will play a critical role in managing SAP environments, leading S/4HANA upgrades, and integrating advanced monitoring, AI, and security solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities 1. SAP BTP Platform Management •                    Promote, configure, and support applications on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). •                    Support and troubleshoot scenarios on the Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) tenant of BTP. •                    Set up ALM and connect the SAP landscape. Integrate with ServiceNow for efficient SAP landscape monitoring and incident management. •                    Support SAP Cloud Connector 2. SAP S/4HANA Landscape Operations •                    Support and maintain the SAP S4/HANA landscape for daily operations. •                    Provide complex troubleshooting of SAP performance, including SAP HANA and SAP application layers (STAD, ST01, disp+work traces, ABAP debugging, HANA traces). •                    Lead full-cycle S/4HANA upgrades, coordinating SPDD/SPAU adjustments, aligning custom solutions with new SAP releases, and facilitating user acceptance testing. •                    Manage and monitor SAP CUA, housekeeping jobs, SAP archiving setup (SARA and KGS), system copies, printing setup, and SAP Content Server (KGS) configuration.

4. Security and Authentication  •                    Set up and support authorization protocols (e.g., SAML 2.0, Kerberos, SAP SSO Service cloud •                    Apply SAP security notes and recommended parameters to protect SAP systems from vulnerabilities. •                    Implement secure transport and patch processes, ensuring minimal downtime and robust compliance with company policies. •                    Maintain thorough compliance documentation for audits, including user trace logs, roles & authorizations, and system modifications. 5. Advanced Monitoring •                    Integrate advanced monitoring tools and external incident systems such as ServiceNow.

6. S/4HANA Innovations & Cross-System Integrations

•                    Identify and lead improvements in S/4HANA architecture, including Fiori front-end expansions

•                    Integrate third-party applications (e.g., CRM, MES, or IoT) with SAP back-end using CPI or other robust middleware solutions.

•                    Coordinate with infrastructure teams for hardware sizing, OS patching, virtualization, or cloud migrations.

Skill Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications

•                    10+ years of SAP Basis administration experience, including S/4HANA.

•                    Proven expertise in SAP S4/HANA, SAP ABAP, SAP Fiori and SAP BTP services (Cloud Platform Integration, ALM connections).

•                    Strong knowledge of SAP HANA performance tuning and SAP application-layer troubleshooting (STAD, ST01, disp+work traces, HANA traces, etc.).

•                    Experience with Python scripting for automation or microservice development. Familiarity with ABAP for debugging and custom solutions.

•                    Security knowledge: SAML 2.0, Kerberos, SAP SSO, SAP security notes/parameters.

•                    Experience integrating SAP with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.

•                    Excellent communication and leadership skills, enabling cross-functional collaboration with Infrastructure, Development, and Business teams.

•                    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Other Requirements

Additional Responsibilities

•                    Oversee Transport Management, ensuring safe and traceable transport routes, supporting multi-landscape development cycles.

•                    Collaborate closely with functional teams to gather requirements, propose technical solutions, and communicate changes effectively across the organization.

•                    Provide project leadership for critical upgrades or rollouts, ensuring alignment with business timelines and cost targets.

•                    Document technical processes and best practices, mentor junior team members, and cultivate knowledge-sharing culture within the team.

 

Python, ABAP, and AI (a big advantage to have)

•                    Troubleshoot ABAP code and provide recommendations for performance optimization.

•                    Develop ABAP programs for SAP Basis usage, audit requirements, and administrative automation.

•                    Build microservices in Python (or other relevant languages) to automate repetitive Basis tasks and integrate with external services

 

 

•                    Comfortably explore and integrate GPT or other AI solutions (e.g., for code generation, automated scripts, or basis chatbots).
