Cross-functional leadership across end user devices and video conferencing devices
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership • Lead the GHL technical team and coordinate day-to-day lab priorities, work allocation and delivery quality. • Act as the central technical contact for GHL activities across end user devices and video conferencing devices. • Coordinate with workplace services, engineering, service management, security, procurement, OEMs and customer stakeholders. • Ensure activities are delivered in line with agreed quality, security and operational standards. End User Device Validation • Support certification and validation of laptops, desktops, workstations, docking stations, monitors and peripherals. • Validate Windows 11, endpoint build, driver, BIOS, firmware, imaging and provisioning readiness. • Support endpoint management activities linked to Intune, Autopilot, Microsoft Entra ID and MECM/SCCM where required. • Identify, document and drive resolution of hardware, driver, firmware and operating system issues. Video Conferencing Device Validation • Support technical validation of video conferencing and meeting room devices, including Microsoft Teams Rooms, Cisco VC, UC/BYOD devices and related peripherals. • Coordinate functional checks for cameras, audio devices, displays, room peripherals and connectivity components. • Work with relevant technology teams and vendors to resolve compatibility or performance issues. • Maintain clear records of VC device test outcomes, known issues and approval status. Lifecycle and Release Support • Support lifecycle validation for approved hardware models and associated accessories. • Review and test driver, BIOS, firmware and hardware-related software updates before operational release. • Support regression testing when updates or configuration changes may impact certified devices. • Track lifecycle risks such as model changes, component changes, end-of-life and end-of-service milestones. Lab Operations and Asset Control • Maintain readiness of lab devices, test benches, reference hardware and required test environments. • Ensure lab assets are recorded, traceable and available for planned certification and validation activities. • Maintain secure handling of devices, configurations and test information in line with site requirements. • Support continuous improvement of lab processes, templates, checklists and ways of working. Documentation and Reporting • Create and maintain test plans, certification records, technical findings, issue logs and knowledge articles. • Provide clear status updates for ongoing validation, certification and lifecycle activities. • Prepare management-ready summaries on progress, risks, blockers and decisions required. • Ensure documentation is accurate, concise and suitable for audit or governance review
Skill Requirements
1. Strong background in enterprise endpoint technologies, hardware validation, endpoint lifecycle management or workplace engineering. 2. Hands-on technical knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Microsoft Entra ID, MECM/SCCM, device imaging, drivers, BIOS and firmware. 3. Experience working with end user hardware, docking stations, displays, peripherals and video conferencing or meeting room technologies. 4. Ability to lead a small technical team, coordinate across functions and manage multiple workstreams in parallel. 5. Strong analytical, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capability. 6. Good understanding of ITIL-based incident, problem, change and request processes. 7. Strong documentation, reporting and stakeholder communication skills. 8. Fluent English communication required; German language capability is beneficial for local coordination. 9. Ability to work onsite in Leonberg, Stuttgart, Germany and support occasional additional activity where business-critical lab work requires it.
Other Requirements
Focus of the Role This is a technical lab lead role, not a general deskside support role. The resource should not be positioned for routine walk-up support, generic break-fix activity, joiner-mover-leaver processing, event support, badge processing or standard onsite dispatch tasks, except where directly required to support GHL certification, validation or lab operations.
