Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Mechanical Manager to engage during mechanical construction and lead testing, performance validation, IST and handover of cooling and MEP systems to Operations. Construction execution and readiness for safe handover are the first responsibilities. Following formal system acceptance, the role will support or assume steady-state operations responsibilities where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Readiness and Commissionability
- Review installation readiness, cleanliness, access, isolation, instrumentation and controls interfaces during construction.
- Confirm pressure tests, flushing, cleaning, water quality, balancing and OEM start-up prerequisites.
- Coordinate system boundaries, turnover packages and commissioning sequence with execution teams.
- Reject premature testing where completion evidence is insufficient.
Pre-Commissioning and Start-Up
- Manage pressure testing, flushing, cleaning, passivation, water-quality validation, equipment alignment and start-up.
- Coordinate balancing of hydronic and air systems and calibration of sensors and instruments.
- Verify valves, strainers, filters, vents, drains, supports and controls.
- Coordinate OEM support and corrective action.
Functional Performance and IST
- Validate flow, pressure, temperature, controls stability, redundancy, alarms and failure response for CDUs, cooling loops, dry coolers, chillers, pumps, heat exchangers, HVAC and water systems.
- Coordinate fire-pump, sprinkler, pre-action, plumbing and drainage tests.
- Lead cooling-failure, power-loss, controls-failure, leak and restoration scenarios.
- Require retest after failures, material changes or incomplete results.
Handover to Operations
- Drive closure of construction defects, commissioning issues, punch items and documentation gaps.
- Verify as-builts, test records, SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, training, spares and warranties.
- Support operator training and competency validation.
- Recommend acceptance based on objective evidence and support early-life stabilization.
