Job Summary

Role Summary The Nutanix Engineer (E3.1) is responsible for administration, maintenance, optimization, and support of Nutanix Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) environments. The role involves managing clusters, virtualization platforms, storage, backups, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring high availability of enterprise infrastructure. The engineer will work closely with cloud, virtualization, storage, network, and application teams to deliver reliable infrastructure services. Key Responsibilities Nutanix Administration Manage and administer Nutanix Prism Central and Prism Element environments. Perform cluster deployment, expansion, upgrades, and lifecycle management. Monitor cluster health, capacity, and performance. Configure and maintain storage containers, protection domains, and replication policies. Implement and manage data resilience and disaster recovery solutions. Virtualization Management Administer Nutanix AHV environments. Support VMware ESXi integration where applicable. Manage VM provisioning, migration, cloning, snapshots, and resource allocation. Perform hypervisor patching and upgrade activities. Performance & Capacity Management Analyze system performance and recommend infrastructure improvements. Monitor storage utilization, CPU, memory, and network performance. Conduct capacity planning and forecasting activities. Incident & Problem Management Troubleshoot Nutanix infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis. Resolve incidents within defined SLAs. Coordinate with OEM vendors and support teams for critical issue resolution. Maintain detailed documentation of incidents and solutions. Backup, DR & Business Continuity Implement and support backup solutions integrated with Nutanix platforms. Configure and test disaster recovery processes. Ensure business continuity requirements are met through regular DR validation. Automation & Optimization Support infrastructure automation initiatives using PowerShell, Python, or automation tools. Optimize infrastructure performance through proactive tuning and recommendations. Participate in standardization and process improvement activities. Security & Compliance Implement security best practices for Nutanix environments. Support vulnerability remediation and patch management activities. Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
