Job Summary

Job Description – Database Migration Architect (L3) Lot 3 – Database Migration Location: Hyderabad / Bangalore Experience: 10–12 Years Role Summary The Database Migration Architect will be responsible for leading database migration and modernization initiatives across enterprise environments. The role will provide technical leadership for database assessment, migration planning, architecture design, data validation, cutover management, and post-migration stabilization activities. The individual will work closely with application, infrastructure, cloud, security, and business teams to ensure successful database migration with minimal business impact.

Key Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities • Lead end-to-end database migration projects from assessment and planning through migration, cutover, validation, and stabilization. • Assess existing database environments and define migration strategies aligned with business, technical, and operational objectives. • Perform database discovery, dependency analysis, migration readiness assessments, and risk evaluations. • Design migration architectures and target-state database solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. • Develop migration plans, cutover strategies, rollback procedures, validation plans, and operational readiness checklists. • Coordinate with application, infrastructure, cloud, security, and testing teams to ensure successful migration execution. • Lead data migration, replication, synchronization, and database upgrade activities while ensuring data integrity and performance. • Support migration testing, performance validation, business sign-off, and post-migration stabilization activities. • Monitor migration risks, dependencies, issues, and escalations, ensuring proactive mitigation and resolution. • Define database migration standards, best practices, operational procedures, and governance controls. • Drive modernization initiatives involving database consolidation, cloud adoption, platform upgrades, and performance optimization. • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to migration engineers and database administrators.
