Job Summary

Job Description: Oracle DBA Lead – On-Premises to GCP Cloud Migration Role Summary The Oracle DBA Lead will be responsible for governing and executing database and data migration activities as part of an enterprise On-Premises to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) migration program. This role requires deep expertise in Oracle database technologies and strong leadership to guide DBA teams through migration strategy, execution, security, and post-migration operations. Experience Required Minimum 15 years of experience working with Oracle database technologies Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata, RAC, and GoldenGate Proven experience with Oracle workloads on GCP (Oracle@GCP or Oracle on GCE) Prior involvement in large-scale database and data migration programs Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end database and data migration strategy for On-Prem to GCP migration programs Define and guide database migration approaches including rehost, refresh, replication, and cutover Mentor and guide DBA teams across migration planning and execution phases Coordinate closely with application, cloud, network, and security teams Plan and oversee database cutovers, rollback strategies, and validation activities Provide expert support during migration waves and post-migration hyper-care Ensure database performance, availability, and stability post migration Oracle Technology Expertise Oracle Exadata and RAC architecture and operations Oracle GoldenGate replication and synchronization strategies Backup, recovery, and high availability configurations Performance tuning and capacity planning Security & Compliance Responsibilities Design and implement database encryption (TDE, network encryption) Define secure access controls, authentication, and auditing Ensure compliance with enterprise security and regulatory requirements Collaborate with security teams on risk assessment and mitigation GCP & DevOps Skills Good understanding of GCP services such as Compute Engine, networking, IAM, and storage Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for database deployments and automation Understanding of cloud-native operations and observability Documentation Responsibilities Database architecture and migration strategy documentation Migration runbooks and cutover plans Security, backup, and DR documentation Operational handover and support runbooks Soft Skills & Leadership Strong leadership and mentoring skills for DBA teams Excellent stakeholder communication and coordination abilities Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset Ownership-driven approach in critical migration programs
