Job Summary

Job Summary : Job Title: Cybersecurity WAS (Web Application Services) Administrator Role Summary Responsible for securing, administering, monitoring, and maintaining web application platforms and middleware environments (such as IBM WebSphere Application Server, Apache, IIS, Tomcat, JBoss, or similar) while ensuring compliance with enterprise cybersecurity standards. The role focuses on system hardening, vulnerability management, access control, incident response, and secure application hosting. Key Responsibilities Platform Administration Install, configure, and maintain Web Application Server (WAS) environments. Manage application deployments, upgrades, patching, and middleware configurations. Monitor server performance, availability, and capacity. Security Administration Implement security hardening standards for web and application servers. Manage SSL/TLS certificates and encryption configurations. Configure authentication and authorization mechanisms (LDAP, Active Directory, SSO, MFA). Enforce secure configuration baselines and compliance requirements. Vulnerability & Risk Management Perform vulnerability assessments and remediation activities. Review security scan findings and coordinate fixes with application teams. Ensure timely patch management for operating systems and middleware components. Monitoring & Incident Response Monitor security events and logs using SIEM tools. Investigate security alerts, suspicious activities, and cyber incidents. Support forensic investigations and root cause analysis. Compliance & Governance Support audits related to ISO 27001, NIST, SOC2, GDPR, PCI-DSS, and enterprise security policies. Maintain security documentation, SOPs, and audit evidence. Participate in cybersecurity risk assessments and control validation activities. Access Management Manage privileged accounts and service accounts. Review user access permissions regularly. Support role-based access control (RBAC) implementation. Required Skills Technical Skills IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) administration. Linux/Unix and Windows Server administration. Web Servers: Apache, IIS, Nginx. Security tools: SIEM, IDS/IPS, Vulnerability Scanners. SSL/TLS, PKI, Certificate Management. Active Directory, LDAP, SSO, MFA.
